Mentor Recreation Center draws families with Just Kids' Stuff Garage Sale reset

The tables went up inside the Mentor Community Recreation Center at 6000 Heisley Road on Saturday, Sept. 19, and by 9 a.m. they were loaded with the things kids outgrow fastest: snow boots, onesies, board books, strollers, and bins of toys. Mentor's annual Just Kids' Stuff Garage Sale ran until noon, indoors and weather-proof, a Saturday morning families could plan around.

Shoppers worked the tables for gently used children's clothing, toys, books, and baby gear at resale prices โ€” a winter coat or a stroller for a few dollars instead of full retail. The city announced the sale on Sept. 11 and billed the indoor setup as a comfortable, weather-proof way to shop and sell.

The Fall 2026 Mentor Special Edition had listed the sale for 2 to 6 p.m.; the city said the correct hours were 9 a.m. to noon.

What a table costs

Sellers paid $25 for a table if they lived in Mentor and $30 if they didn't โ€” a small fee to clear out gear their kids had outgrown.

A public building for families

The same building runs aquatics, fitness and wellness, sports, and family activities year-round for families, children, teens, adults, and older adults. By hosting the garage sale there, the city puts a resale market for growing kids in the same public building where those programs run โ€” a public space doing family work, not a commercial one.

The city calls the sale its popular annual event, and the tables come back next September. For information or to reserve a table, call (440) 205-3608.
